As of January 26, 2011 the members of the Advisory Board for the Children’s Lodge are as follows:
- Peter Ehrenhaft Esq., distinguished Washington attorney, clerked for Chief Justice Earl Warren, active in national and international legal affairs and author of many legal related publications.
- The Honorable Stuart Eizenstat, Chief Domestic Policy Advisor to President Jimmy Carter and Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for the Clinton Administration, Ambassador to the European Union, active in legal and international affairs.
- M. Shafik Gabr, Financier, art collector and philanthropist, Mr. Gabr is Chairman and Managing Director of ARTOC Group for Investment, Cairo. He is also Chairman of Egypt's International Economic Forum and a board member of the Egyptian Center for Economic Studies. Mr. Gabr serves on the Council of the World Economic Forum (DAVOS). A book, the Shafik Gabr Collection, was recently published, documenting Mr. Gabr’s remarkable collection of Orientalist paintings.
- Amnon Neubach, former Israeli diplomat and prominent businessman active in Israeli business organizations
- Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne, Member of the House of Lords, U.K. and founding President of AMAR International Charitable Foundation dedicated to helping the inhabitants of the marshes in Iraq.
- George Peter, a Palestinian now based in this country active in Palestinian issues and Palestinian exchange students and with strong connections on the Hill.
- Alice Shalvi, leader of the women’s movement in Israel, former Professor and head of the Institute of Languages and Literature at the Hebrew University, winner in 2007 of the prestigious Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement.
- Thomas Timberg, international economist who represents a leading U.S. company in his work with developing nations to strengthen and improve their financial growth.
- Ambassador Philip C. Wilcox ret., President of the Foundation for Middle East Peace. He served for 31 years in the Foreign Service in areas including Laos, Indonesia, Bangladesh and Israel and had many positions at the State Department such as Director of Arab-Israeli Affairs and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Middle Eastern Affairs.
We are proud to announce that on November 7, 2011 we have recieved a grant for $4,000 from the Anne Frank Foundation in Basel, Switzerland to help fund the Children's Lodge project.
